The parade celebrates 30 years of Macnas magic through the streets and as a Galway based company we’re delighted to be supporting such a great event.
“Savage Grace”, the 2016 Macnas Halloween Parade takes over Galway City Centre on Sunday October 30th at 5.30pm. Commenting on the significance of the parade to Galway Noeline Kavanagh, Artistic Director, Macnas said that “Macnas collaborate with like-minded, imaginative organizations to bring original and extraordinary ideas to life. TitanHQ are a perfect fit and it’s wonderful to have their support” This year’s parade, Savage Grace, is a restless ballad, a deliriously dark and delicious waltz between love and loss.
Hundreds of colorful Macnas volunteer performers will transform and transfix, bringing a birth, a wedding, a funeral and everything in between, to the streets of Galway. Everyone is invited to come out and play. Audience members are encouraged to dress up in costume and celebrate Samhain, where the membrane between the living and the dead grows thin. Crowds of over 44,000 people have attended this spectacular event in recent years and similar numbers are expected to turn out in Galway city centre again this year.
