Now in its sixteenth year, the Connemara International Marathon (Connemarathon) returns to the beautiful west of Ireland this April (Sunday 23rd April). The race, comprising of half marathon, marathon and ultra marathon (39.3 miles) formats gives more than 3,000 runners and walkers the chance to test themselves in the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, with the dramatic scenery providing a welcome distraction.

Participants taking on the challenging course will encounter bogs, hills, lakes, and the twelve pins mountain range, rising up over the great expanse of Killary Lough, through the sleepy village of Leenane, around the Maam Turk Mountains and all the way up to Maam Cross.
The event attracts people from all over the world - in 2016 participants came from 28 different countries to experience the stunning course and everything the local area has to offer. No other sporting event gives people such a taste of Ireland and its highlights!
