TitanHQ feature in Sunday Business Post

@TitanHQ - Below is a direct transcript of the published article.

Earlier this year, Galway based company, TitanHQ rolled out two new features for its award-winning email security solution SpamTitan: Sandboxing and DMARC email authentication. TitanHQ developed the technology behind its email security solution more than 20 years ago and over the past two decades, SpamTitan has received many updates to improve features for end-users and increase detection rates.

TitanHQ who are based in Salthill, Galway are a 25-year young multi-award winning cloud security vendor. Their three areas of specialization are advanced web filtering, email security and email archiving.  “TitanHQ protects over 8,000 businesses across the globe and works daily with over 2,200 managed service providers,” said Dryden Geary, Marketing Director at TitanHQ. “Our products are really resonating with customers. We protect businesses from cyber threats including malware, ransomware, phishing, viruses, and botnets.”

SpamTitan already blocks more than 99.9% of spam and malicious emails to prevent threats from reaching end users’ inboxes. The level of protection SpamTitan provides against email attacks has made it the gold standard in email security for the SMB market and managed service providers serving SMBs. In order to provide even greater protection against increasingly sophisticated email threats, TitanHQ added a new sandboxing feature.

“The sandbox is a powerful virtual environment totally separate from other systems,” said Geary. “When programs are run in the sandbox, they behave as they would on an ordinary endpoint and can be assessed for suspicious behavior and malicious actions without causing harm. Prior to being sent to the sandbox, files are first analyzed using SpamTitan’s anti-malware technologies. Only files that require further analysis make it to the sandbox where they are safely detonated.”

“The growth of the cyber threat landscape has pushed security to the forefront of everyone’s mind,” said Geary. “The company has continued to grow as the web security area has become more and more important. We have recently expanded our team and now 55 people in Galway. We have taken over the entire building and have all three floors. It has been redecorated internally and the offices now have a ‘Google’ look.”

TitanHQ has also commenced a major partnership with Datapac – Ireland’s leading ICT solutions provider, with offices in Dublin, Wexford, and Belfast. Established in 1982, Datapac has been at the forefront of technology innovation for more than three decades.

“We are a wholly Irish owned company on the west coast,” said Geary. “Datapac is also a wholly Irish owned company. They are using our platforms to serve their new and existing customers. It is a great example of two indigenous companies working well together.”

TitanHQ is also having considerable success with its email security product which they have been developing over the past few years. Office 365 has become a primary target for cyber-attacks and while Microsoft has made progress in cybersecurity, we still hear countless stories where hackers have undermined an O365 environment

Although the Office 365 spam filter offers a reasonable level of security, some businesses find it lacking when it comes to highly-sophisticated cyber threats especially advanced and persistent spear-phishing attacks. As email security experts with over 20 years’ experience, TitanHQ know new malware can penetrate the usual email filtering mechanisms.

“System Administrators implementing Office 365 need to make sure it’s secure by layering in a dedicated secure messaging and spam filtering solution like SpamTitan to protect against advanced persistent threats,” he said.
