Here at TitanHQ, our commitment extends beyond ensuring the safety of our customers on the internet; we are equally dedicated to making a positive impact within our local communities. In late 2022, we established a committee to oversee a charitable initiative within our organization - the Community Champions Group. The primary objective of this group is to spearhead initiatives that benefit our local communities and raise funds for essential services. Following a company-wide vote, COPE Galway was selected as our charity partner for the year 2023.
In our inaugural year, we successfully organized a series of events and actively participated in volunteering efforts alongside COPE Galway. The Community Champions Group initiated key events, including bake sales aligned with our company all-hands meetings, which have now become a cultural staple and even led to an entertaining company Bake Off competition.
Throughout the year, we expanded our efforts by hosting a Pancake Tuesday event, where one of our outstanding Site Reliability Engineers donned his chef hat to cater to the business while encouraging donations.
During Easter, we engaged in an Easter egg collection initiative organized by COPE Galway, providing chocolate joy to families benefiting from their services.
As summer arrived, we celebrated our diverse employee base with a vibrant Festa Junina celebration in support of COPE. This colorful event, filled with cultural sharing and delicious food, allowed our Brazilian community within the company to showcase their traditions. Additionally, we hosted a raffle featuring sought-after tickets for the Galway Arts Festival, The Coronas, and The Saw Doctors.
Our Titan Tribe laced up their running shoes to participate in the ‘Streets of Galway’ Road Race, witnessing a tremendous turnout from our team and substantial funds raised for our charity partner.
Capitalizing on the rare fine weather in Galway, our teams engaged in two on-site volunteering projects, directly assisting COPE Galway's facilities with cleanup work and a gardening project at one of their houses.
As the year drew to a close, we actively contributed to the Galway Giving Tree initiative, donating Christmas gifts to those in need within our community. This particular event brought immense joy to our team, allowing us to directly impact a family, spreading holiday cheer and ensuring that every community member felt the warmth of the season.
In reflecting on the accomplishments of 2023, we are proud to share that through cash donations, funds raised, and gifts in-kind, we contributed €2,463.05 to COPE Galway. A special thanks to Deirdre, Jackie, and Lucia at COPE Galway for their invaluable advice and support.
